The Department of Human Nutritional Sciences at the University of Manitoba has a strong research program which is unique in its broad spectrum of nutrition research in health and disease, i.e. Community Nutrition, Experimental Nutrition, Foods Research, Clinical Nutrition, Functional Foods and Nutraceuticals Research.

The M.Sc. thesis-based program consists of a combination of coursework and a research component.
